Zusammenfassung: | The equipment comprises
a first sensor (6) for supplying signals indicating the steering angle (¸),
a second sensor (7) for supplying signals indicating the total torque (T) acting on the steering column or shaft (5), and
a processing unit (ECU) which is connected to the sensors (6, 7) and which is associated with memory devices (M) in which are stored data representing a mathematical model of the steering system (1). The processing unit (ECU) is designed to generate, on the basis of the signals supplied by the sensors (6, 7) and the said model of the steering system (1), signals or data indicating the torque (Td) applied by the driver to the steering wheel (4) and its derivative with respect to time (DTd); to compare the torque (Td) applied by the driver to the steering wheel (4) and its derivative with respect to time (DTd) with a (first) threshold value of torque (T2) and with a (first) threshold value of the derivative of torque (DT2); and to generate a (first) indicating signal when the torque (Td) applied by the driver to the steering wheel (4) and its derivative (DTd) both remain simultaneously below the aforesaid respective (first) threshold values (T2; DT2) for at least a (first) reference time (TLO) of predetermined duration. |
