Zusammenfassung:	A platform (34) used between adjacent fan blades of a gas turbine engine joined to a rotor disk (16), comprises a structural body portion (40) having a contour that matches that of the adjacent fan blades and a flow path surface portion (42) joined to the structural body portion. An independent claim is also included for a method of making a platform comprising: (a) arranging fibers in a desired orientation on a mandrel to create a preform; (b) placing the preform in a mold; (c) adding a glass fabric mat to the mold next to the preform; (d) injecting a resin into the mold to impregnate the preform and the glass fabric mat; and (e) curing the impregnated preform and glass fabric mat to produce an integral member (35).
