Zusammenfassung:Emulsions comprising water (4.5-99.5 wt.%), oil (0-95 wt.%), active ingredient (0-50 wt.%) and an emulsifier (to 100 %) consisting of a specified mixture of fatty alcohols and polyglycosides, are new. Emulsions comprise (4.5-99.5 wt.%), oil (0-95 wt.%), active ingredient (0-50 wt.%) and an emulsifier (to 100 %) (consisting of fatty alcohols (A) and polyglycosides (B)) being either (a) at least 2.5 wt.% or (b) 1-2.5 wt.% when the oil is selected from vegetable oils (almond, coconut, castor, jojoba, olive, rapeseed, peanut, hazelnut, palm, apricot, calophyllum, safflower, avocado, blackcurrant, sunflower, corn, soya, cottonseed, alfalfa, barley, grapeseed, pumpkinseed, sesame, rye evening primrose and passionfruit oils), derivatives of these oils, hydrogenated oils, animal oils, synthetic oils, poly- alpha -olefins, lanolin derivatives, alkanediols containing 2-10 carbon atoms, aliphatic alcohols containing 12-22 carbon atoms and 0-4 double bonds, polyethylene glycols, polypropylene glycols, esters of fatty acids containing 2-23 carbon atoms and 0-4 double bonds with aliphatic alcohols containing 1-21 carbon atoms and 0-4 double bonds, and silicone oils. (A) (30-65 wt.% of the emulsifier) comprises at least one fatty alcohol containing 12-22 carbon atoms and 0-4 double bonds; and (B) includes polypentosides of formula (I) (66-100 wt.%) and polyhexosides of formula (II) (0-34 wt.%) or a polyglycosides of formula (III) comprising pentoses (66-100 wt.%) and hexoses (0-34 wt.%). R -R = 12-22C aliphatic groups containing 0-4 double bonds; P' = arabinose or xylose; H' = hexose; n1, n2 = 1-5; G1-G5 = hexose, arabinose or xylose; a, b, c, d, e = 0 or 1; a+b+c+d+e = 1 or more. An Independent claim is also included for an emulsifier comprising polypentosides of formula (III) (97-100 wt.%) and polyhexosides of formula (III) (0-3 wt.%), provided that D-xylose makes up at least 95 wt.% of the pentose residues.
