Zusammenfassung:	Treating and evaluating bypass dust produced in the mfr. of cement, in which the dust is enriched with alkali chlorides and alkali sulphates, comprises: (a) extracting the dust using an aq. medium with solid-liq. sepn.; (b) extracting the solids produced by adding fresh water and drying the solids; (c) adding a CaCl2 soln. to the sols produced in (a), where the amt. of CaCl2 soln. depends on the concn. ratios of K, Na, S and Cl in the sols, which is adjusted to give a stoichiometric ratio of alkali and chloride concns. and Ca and sulphate concns., the CaSO4.2H2O (gypsum) produced on filtering is dried to CaSO4.0.5H2O (Bassanite) and the solns. produced on filtering are fractionally crystallised; and (d) feeding the dried solids to the extn. step (b) and the pptd. Bassanite as binding regulator to the cement grinding.
