Zusammenfassung: | Catalytic degradation of nitrate in water involves reducing the nitrate to nitrogen, using a metal catalyst and an agent (I). The novelty is that (I) consists of formic acid and/or its salt. Pref. the catalyst is a bimetallic catalyst, and is used in finely divided form enclosed in hydrogel (esp. PVA) particles. The process is carried out at 15 deg C or below and pH 3-10. The nitrate content is measured and (I) or its salt is dosed corresp. (pref. continuously). The pH os kept in a predetermined range during continuous or batchwise addn. of (I) or its salt. |
