Zusammenfassung: | The espresso coffee making machine has coffee grounds chamber through which pressurised hot water is pumped. An aperture in the wall of the chamber is normally above a sealing gasket, but becomes exposed to the pressure chamber beyond a pre-determined pressure by deformation of the assembled parts, allowing escape of the excess pressure. The pressure chamber (6) contains ground coffee (7) and is partially sealed by a sealing ring (29) contained in a groove (28) in a piston (3). Heated water (25) is introduced through a pipe (22) by a motor (27) driven pump (23). Brewed coffee is delivered through the base (18) and a filter (13). A hole (35) is provided in the wall a small distance, b, above the sealing ring. If the pressure within the chamber exceeds a limiting value the piston (3) is urged upwards, due to distortion of the plastic housing parts, lifting the seal above the hole. |
