Zusammenfassung:	The valve includes a sealing layer and a corresponding ceramic distribution layer, with shaped sealing lips to better withstand hot liquid pressures especially for espresso coffee making. The valve is contained within a housing and consists, in part, of a ceramic body with one or more inlet and outlet apertures, and a corresponding flexible seal (16) with sealing lips (17) around the apertures, generally of a greater height (21) than the seal layer itself. The sealing lips have angled sides (19), the outer of which engages a corresponding profile on the ceramic layer, whilst the inner surface is deformed into a shape which the pressure of the water causes the seal to be improved.
