Bearing plate fastening e.g. for lawn mower electromotor with cylindrical housing

The bearing plate fastening is provided for an electromotor (1) with a cylindrical housing (3) and with two bearing plates (9,11) fastened to the ends of the housing (3). The bearing plates (9,11) and the ends (5,7) of the housing (3) have cooperating locking members to secure the bearing plates (9,11) against rotation. The bearing plates (9,11) and the housing (3) may be metal. The bearing plates (9,11) may have bent over centring tongues (89,91( which lock into corresp. apertures in the ends of the housing (3) when the bearing plates are in position. The circular bearing plates (9,11) may have a peripheral upstanding edge part which lies on the housing (3). The bearing plate edges may have guide tongues which are bent inwards and engage with the housing (3) to secure the bearing plates (9,11). The housing ends may, instead, each have a projecting locking nose to engage in centring recesses in the edges of the bearing plates (9,11).
