Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an electronic device, in particular a personal computer, having a processor which is connected on a motherboard (backplane) (1) to a system bus having address, data and control lines and to functional modules. The fact that a further daughterboard (expansion board) (2a, 2b), which is provided with a plurality of insertion locations (3), is mounted essentially parallel to the motherboard (1), the insertion locations (3) being electrically connected to the system bus, means that the number of freely available insertion locations for special user assemblies is increased and the possibility of producing a cost-effective basic device is provided. The invention is used in personal computers.
