In a process for detecting excessive accounts that subscribers to a mobile radio network have to pay in other networks, the network transfer signalling traffic originating from the mobile radio network is recorded. Conversation data, especially the calling subscriber's code, the duration and the recipient area, are reconstructed from the recorded network transfer signalling traffic. The fees or other values relevant thereto obtained from the conversation data are accumulated under the subscriber's code immediately after they are obtained. A suitable message is given when the accumulated values exceed a predetermined limit.
