Zusammenfassung:	A belt transmission (2 to 4) for a car gearbox has an adjuster (5) for the belt tension between the pulleys and pick-ups (10 to 19) for the car's operational parameters determining an operating point. The control device sets a pilot value depending on the parameters so that for every operating point, jolting of the pulleys is avoided. An adaptive value is set by another device for all operating points so that the necessary position value for jolt-free operation is obtained. A summing device adds the pilot and adaptive values to a position value and the control device is operated in proportion to this.
