Zusammenfassung:	A description is given of an electromagnetic device having a stator, an armature, which can carry out a limited rotary movement relative to the stator, and at least one electrically excitable coil, a radial air gap being provided between salient poles of the stator and armature, and the poles of the stator and/or armature in each case comprising magnetically conductive segments which determine the pole contours. These segments are connected to the stator and armature in such a way that the neighbouring segments of the poles of the stator and/or armature are separated by an axial air gap, and these air gaps are larger than the operating air gap. The segments are prefabricated components which are connected to the stator and/or armature and are fixed in their position in a positively locking manner.
