Zusammenfassung:	A process for the treatment of salt-type fire retardants (I) for thermoplastic aromatic polycarbonates (PC) comprises recrystallising (I) from water, methanol, ethanol, propanol-1, propanol-2, acetone, diethyl ether, THF, dioxan or a mixt. thereof, in amts. of 5-80 wt.% (I) to 100 wt.% solvent. Also claimed are fire retardants (I) obtd. by this process, synergistic mixts. of 0.0001-1.5 (pref. 0.001-1) pts.wt. (I) and 0.001-0.6 (pref. 0.01-0.4) pt.wt. UV absorber (II), thermoplastic aromatic PC contg. the above combination (w.r.t. 100 wt.% PC), and a process for the prodn. of such PC compsns. (see below).
