Zusammenfassung:	In a process for filtering liquids in which a liquid is fed to a tubular membrane (2) situated in a casing (1) and a permeate filtered out therefrom is withdrawn between casing (1) and outer wall (5) of the tubular membrane (2), it is provided that the casing (1) is constructed to be elastic and/or flexible and, via membrane (2) and casing (1), at least in part-areas, a relative movement between casing (1) and the membrane (2) situated therein is generated, in particular by oscillatory excitation. In a corresponding apparatus for carrying out the process having a tubular membrane (2) situated in a casing (1), which membrane can be fed with liquid via a feed, the apparatus having a permeate outlet via which a portion of the liquid filtered through the membrane (2) can be withdrawn as permeate and having a further outlet for the unfiltered portion of the liquid, the casing (1) is constructed to be elastic and/or flexible and a device acting on the casing for generating and transmitting at least locally restricted relative movements between casing (1) and membrane (2) is provided.
