Zusammenfassung: | The rescue system is mounted on the deck of the tanker, with individual systems for each tank section mounted at each side of the ship. The rescue helicopter uses its winch to hook a release catch on the top of the rescue system to pull a raft (3) into the sea. The raft has a line attached to the drop down door in the side of the rescue system and pulls out a buoyancy unit (4) attached to the hose reel (5) the other end of which reaches down into the bottom of the tank. The hose is reinforced to enable suction to transfer the oil to the rescue vessel. A system of parallel wires in a frame provide a simple capture area for the winch hook. Similar helicopter activated units at the bows and stern enable towing hawsers to be winched to the rescue vessel, to secure the stricken vessel as it lightens with the removed load. |
