Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a bulky underlay consisting of a multi-layer nonwoven with stitch layers and pile-fold layers which are formed from only one fibre web, with an appropriate fibre length the same fibres being contained both in the stitches of the stitch layers and in the pile folds of the pile-fold layer. The virtually vertically arranged pile folds consisting of fibres between the stitch layers results in a particularly stable underlay, in which compression is largely avoided even under long-term load.
