Zusammenfassung:The ablation tool is coupled to a driving shaft (16) whose speed is determined by the flow of compressed air from a source (20) through a connecting tube (22) and variable-opening needle valve (24) to an air turbine. A tachometer (26) is connected to the shaft, e.g. by magnet by proximity detectors. Axial movement of the shaft is effected pref. by a thumb sliding a knob (30) along a slot (32). Saline or similar rinsing and cooling liquid is supplied (34) through another tube (36). USE/ADVANTAGE - For ablation of vascular occlusion material. Appts. is less bulky. Provides improved feel of associated catheter. Allows rapid and easy tool changes.
