Zusammenfassung:	In binding-off machines, it is necessary, when the fineness of the knit to be machined is changed, also to make a change in the parameters of the spacing-dependent stepping movement of the section needle ring. This has hitherto been possible only at a high outlay. This outlay is to be minimised by means of the invention. The drive unit of the binding-off machine consists of at least two electric motors (2; 4) coupled to one another via an electronic control (1), one of the motors (2) being assigned to the section needle ring (5), whilst the needle/gripper system (3) is connected to at least one further electric motor (2).
