Zusammenfassung: | In thread-processing operations, such as, for example, embroidering, it happens relatively frequently, under certain circumstances, that the thread has to be changed. To avoid threading the new desired thread, which, for example, has a different colour from the old thread, manually through the various guides of the thread-processing machine, the old thread must be clipped and tied as automatically as possible together with the new thread. It is known, for this purpose, to utilise swirling by means of compressed air in a swirl chamber to join the two threads, but the execution of this is not always reliable and the device required is relatively complicated. In order to increase the reliability and keep the outlay in terms of construction for this within limits, it is proposed, according to the invention, during the swirling in the swirl chamber, to hold the two threads virtually loosely in the longitudinal direction over at least the length of 1 cm and to retain each of the two threads directly at the swirl chamber, at most on one side of the swirl chamber, without the formation of a loose intermediate loop. |
