Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a rear support for transporting awkwardly shaped loads on a motor vehicle, especially for transporting a bicycle, having a rectangular supporting frame which can be mounted on the motor vehicle in the region of the rear bumper and which, during transport, is held in an erected condition behind the end of the body of the motor vehicle, and having a load bearing frame which is articulated to the supporting frame, for supporting the load to be transported, which load bearing frame is fastened in its transporting position at an angle to the supporting frame, the load bearing frame being capable of being folded downwards and backwards with respect to the motor vehicle. In order to make it possible for loading of the rear support to be easier, the supporting frame is mounted so as to be pivotable about a motor vehicle transverse shaft extending behind the rear bumper and to be fastened by means of holding means in its erected transport position, the supporting frame being capable of being folded downwards and backwards when the holding means have been released, as a result of which the load bearing frame, which is moved along concomitantly, can be transferred to a lowered loading position behind the motor vehicle.
