Zusammenfassung:	The safety system contains an obstruction detection arrangement (36) for detecting obstructions in the forward path of the vehicle. Another detection arrangement detects deviations of a detectable region of the path, which can be detected by the obstruction detector, from a region which can be detected when the vehicle is moving along the path under normal conditions. A safety mechanism conducts a process whereby the vehicle is safely guided along the required path when a deviation from the path is detected. The detection arrangement can detect a reduction in the detectable region. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system improves the safety of the operation of the autonomous vehicle, even when the detectable region of an obstruction detector, e.g. a radar device, changes.
