An apparatus and a method for airless spraying of solid wax envisage that the solid wax is heated in a filling container (2), which is connected directly to a high-pressure pump (1), and is thus liquefied. From the pump (1), the solid wax passes through a single compression-proof line (3) to a spray gun (4). Prewarming lines (3) and wax circulation, which prevents cooling of the wax in the line (3), can be forgone. Critical for the functional reliability of the spraying apparatus is essentially only the liquefaction of the wax in the lower region of the filling container (2) and in the suction region (21) of the pump (1).
