Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a sensor device for oxidisable gases and an operating method for the sensor device, in particular for operation in conjunction with systems or buildings at risk of fire or explosion, the sensor device having at least one single-part or multiple-part semiconductor gas sensor which works at different temperatures and detects the oxidisable gases, and gas states and gas state patterns being determined and evaluated from the detected values by electronic evaluation using a computer program, and the pattern evaluation taking place preferably by comparison of the determined gas state pattern with typical gas state patterns, special event patterns and normal operation patterns.
