Cable strain-relief grip for circular plug connector - includes separate resilient slotted member which is deformed by end of plug sleeve compressing cable against underlay

The cable (14) is gripped by a unitary plastic clamp (1) which has a pref. resilient upper part (4) and a ribbed lower part (5) with one or more slots (8a) between them. The end of the cable is pressed against an underlay (13). The necessary grip for relief of strain on the cable is afforded by contact between the resilient upper part and a sleeve of the plug whose end bears upon its sloping surface (2). ADVANTAGE - The cable clamp can be substd. for a conventional screw clamp and brought into its secure position through an existing component of the connector.
