A method of manufacturing a jaw-angle support for violins and violas is described, a) an impression plate being fastened on the instrument, the vertical position of the impression plate being adapted to the neck length of the instrumentalist; b) one or more impression compounds being arranged on the impression plate and an impression being taken of the lower jaw/neck region of the instrumentalist; c) the impression plate with the hardened impression compound being removed from the instrument and being transferred identically to a model in a copying mill; d) the model being individually (adapted and) finely machined and adapted to the instrument; e) the finished model being finely adapted to the instrumentalist with a correction impression cutter.
