The cathode (1) consists of at least two partial cathodes (2.1, 2.2) which are constructed from cathode wires (3.1, 3.2) made from different materials. The materials which are used differ in terms of their electron-emitting power. A cathode is obtained thereby which is distinguished by a high flexibility in terms of use. A brief peak load can for example be generated in one partial cathode (2.1) while the other partial cathode (2.2) emits during normal operation. |
