Wagon body for rail vehicles whose floor absorbs and/or transmits, in conjunction with the side wall connection, all the forces and torques brought about by the stressing and, at the same time, is supported on a transverse carrier-free underframe, the floor (4) and side wall (1) consisting of in each case two cover layers (2; 3; 5; 6) which are arranged at a distance from one another and whose intermediate space is filled with a rigid foam which is connected over a large surface to the inner faces of the cover layers (2; 3; 5; 6) and a casting resin adhesive (7) acting as positively engaging connection on the one hand between the rigid foam core (8) of the side wall (1) and the upper cover layer of the floor (5) and on the other hand between the rigid foam core (8) of the floor (4) and an edge profile (9) whose flange is simultaneously connected to the outer cover layer of the side wall (3).
