Zusammenfassung:	Consolidation of mixts. of wastes and residues, esp. dry to pasty fibrous and finely dispersed organic or inorganic wastes or residues for use in fixed bed pressure gasification, is carried out in conventional presses. The novelty is that (a) the mixt. consists of an unlimited number of components, at least one of which has a fibrous compactible structure (pref. clarification sludge) and at least one of which is dry (max. 20% moisture content); (b) the as-pressed moisture content is adjusted by adjusting the ratio of moist and dry components; (c) homogeneous mixing of the components is carried out by forced mixing and comminution, simultaneously or separately; and press compaction is carried out at 20-120 MPa pressure. Press compaction is repeated to increase the transverse compressive strength of the pressings. USE/ADVANTAGE - For compacting paint residues, acid resins and clarification sludge. The pressings have sufficient for transport and high thermal stability for the gasification process.
