The first sewing machine accepts and locates a neckbone, a collar and a label, the collar being attached first, then the neckband and finally the label. Then a second sewing machine completes the operation on the neckband when the garment is forwarded. The garment (20) has a collar (22), a label (26) and a neckband (24), which has visual stitching (33). the garment is advanced into the installation and a sensor detects the shoulder hem, to enable stitching to commence. ADVANTAGE - The production of shirts, blouses and similar garments is completed automatically by transfer to sewing machines, with equipment to ensure accuracy of stitching.
