At least three sensors are employed on a plane perpendicular to the tube axis. The angular spacing is constant between each sensor and the distance from the tube axis is the same for each sensor. The distance from each sensor to the tube surface is measured and assessed by a computer which determines tube dia. and/or circumference. USE/ADVANTAGE - Measurement of tubular blown film dia. and/or circumference. Continuous operation and greater accuracy of control of tube dia.
