Illumination device for vehicle door-lock - has small lock lamp powered from car's battery, with earth contact via door handle and time relay

To illuminate the door lock of a car at night and thereby to enable the driver to more readily insert his key to open the door, a small lock lamp (A) has an earth contact (B) with the outer door handle. The live contact is via a fuse to the car wiring loom. Thus the driver can lift the handle to light up the lock before inserting the key. There may be a time relay in the earth connection so that the handle need be lifted just momentarily, rather than held "up". The light is a ring around the lock cylinder, or it might be mounted on the door lip. ADVANTAGE- An excellent driver-friendly device, preventing key scratches around door lock, for instance.
