Zusammenfassung:	The measuring device uses a measuring chamber (20) coupled to the oil sump (12) via a fluid equalisation line (24), the oil level in the measuring chamber detected via a level measuring device (46). The spaces above the oil level in the measuring chamber and the oil sump are coupled via a pressure equalisation line (52). The equalisation line is connected to a vent chamber (18) between the oil sump and the measuring chamber, the space above the oil in the vent chamber coupled to the pressure equalisation line, the measuring chamber and the vent chamber held at the same temp. The lowest point (42) of the fluid equalisation line lies below the level of the line between the vent chamber and the sump. ADVANTAGE - Prevents measuring errors due incorrect venting.
