Zusammenfassung:	Catalyst arrangement for purifying pulsed flow exhaust gas, particularly from motor vehicles, with a catalyst element enclosed in a tubular casing that only has a gas tight seal connection with the housing forming the gas inlet and outlet in an axially narrow peripheral region, particularly at the flow outlet region, while the other peripheral region defines a gap which connects with the exhaust gas filled space in the housing, and novel in that the connection (31) is formed to prevent direct impingement of the pulsed flow (22) on the housing (20). USE/ADVANTAGE - IC engine exhaust catalytic converter, where the catalyst element is surrounded by hot gases to provide rapid attainment of optimum working temperature, but avoiding the noise generation associated wtih direct impingement of a pulsating gas flow on the inside of a thin sheet metal housing.
