Zusammenfassung: | An air filter insert consists of a strip of fan-folded material in which the folds are transverse to the direction of the length to form peaks and troughs of uniform dimensions. The air flows to and from the vicinity of the peaks which are arranged at defined intervals. The edges are glued to a side support. The novelty is that the side support is an open-pored foam material which can be soaked in suitable glue which subsequently hardens; further that the side strip is of constant thickness along its height (H), and that H is the same as the distance between the peak and the trough. USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly is a filter for fluids, esp. air. The filter insert maintains its shape, is robust, provides a good peripheral seal, and is easy to manufacture. |
