Zusammenfassung:	The use of styrene-allyl alcohol copolymers (I) as compatibilisers for bisphenol-polycarbonate blends (II) is claimed. Also claimed are polycarbonate/polystyrene mixts. contg. 0.1-5 wt% (I). Also claimed is a process for producing such mixts., by mixing the components either simultaneously or in succession by means of the corresp. 2-component mixts., then extruding at 180-340 deg.C and isolating by known methods. USE/ADVANTAGE - Moulded prods. obtd. from the above mixts. are useful in optical applications (claimed). The method provides effective compatibilisers (I) which are technically easier to produce than the block copolymers described in EP 0199824 or the graft copolymers described in EP 0292785; in addn., (I) are effective with polycarbonates which do not contain special alkylphenyl end gps. (see DE-OS 3635825).
