Zusammenfassung: | A multi-layer wall forming part of a containment arrangement for nuclear sites, for example tanks or caves. The wall comprises a supporting or building wall (2) covered on at least one outer surface by a sealing layer (4) and a protecting wall (5). The latter is fastened firmly to the supporting wall (2). The fastening is by means of bolts (6) which are fixed in the supporting wall (2). The sealing layer (4) is glued around the bolts to ensure a gas (and fluid) tight seal is maintained. Other fastening methods can be used. The protecting wall (5) can be made up of a number of parts firmly fastened to each other and the supporting wall. It is temperature, radiation, impact and corrosion resistant. ADVANTAGE - Prior art has comprised twin walls with a sealing layer between them. This has caused problems due to relative movement of the two walls. The claimed wall is cheaper as only one wall foundation is needed. Relative movement of the two walls is smaller. The supporting wall can be made of cheaper material as the protecting wall absorbs the various housing influences. |
