Zusammenfassung:Inactivation of solid residues, esp. from waste incineration and flue gas cleaning, is carried out by melting under reducing conditions, followed by remelting under oxidising conditions and/or subjecting to oxidative treatment and then further processing conventionally to glass products or porous or dense ceramics. ADVANTAGE - The process eliminates noxious substances and allows direct further processing of the molten silicate product to glass products or ceramics (e.g. glass wool for use as insulating material).
