Zusammenfassung: | Foam with urethane and amide gps. is claimed, which can be produced using 8-200 C polyhydroxycarboxylic acids (I). Pref. the foam may also contain urea gps.. (I) are obtd. by ring opening of epoxidised fatty acids (II) with cpds. contg. OH gps., pref. diols, esp. ethane-1,2-, butane-1,2- or hexane-1,6-diol, polypropylene glycol and/or polyethylene glycol with a degree of polymerisation of 2-40. (II) have a 14-100 C chain and pref. are based on natural fatty acids, esp. mainly oleic acid. The foam is produced by reacting polyisocyanates with (I), pref. using a tert. amine as catalyst. Neither the moulds nor the starting reaction mixt. are heated above 22 deg.C. ADVANTAGE - The foam has density less than 150 kg/cu.m (DIN 53420) and is smooth, with fine cells. It can be produced easily, avoiding the drawbacks of conventional blowing agent systems, and has better properties, esp. burning property, than usual. It also reacts in economically viable times without preheating the moulds and reaction mixt. and avoids the need for additional blowing agent |
