Zusammenfassung:	A method of regulating a power-assisted steering system applies to a system with a servomotor (112), a transmission between the servomotor and either the vehicle steering column or a drive output leading to the steering box or rack, and a clutch cheek which produces a driving connection between the servomotor and the steering column when, on manual application of torque to the steering wheel, an entraining member connected with the steering column produces the required clutch contact pressure. The rotational speed of the servomotor is selected in dependence on at least one of the magnitudes of vehicle speed (Vf), steering torque (Imot), engaged gear of the vehicle transmission (G), operational state of the vehicle engine and operational state of the power-assisted steering (T).
