Zusammenfassung:A piece of cardboard (10) has a circular recess surrounded by a step. The surface of the floor of the central hole and the surface of the surrounding step are printed on by means of an element (14) attached to the printing roller. The element (14) is shaped so that it fits the hole and recess and prints the required characters. During the printing operation the cardboard (10) is supported on the counter-pressure roller (16) so that the cardboard is not distorted and the surfaces of the hole floor and step remain in contact with the element (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - The floor of the hole is prevented from distorting so that a clear printed image is produced.
