Fuel injection valve esp. for mixture-compressing IC engine - has collection devices for dirt particles in fuel flow path upstream of valve seat

The injection valve has a needle, which lifts off its conical valve seat against the direction of flow. The needle shank is longitudinally moveable along the wall of the valve body. It has flat sections, to form a fuel passage, extending to the valve seat, between needle shank and valve body. Collection devices (16) for dirt particles are positioned in the fuel flow path, between needle shank and valve body (2). An outer collar (17) on the needle shank has a ring shoulder pocket (18), which faces against flow direction. A ring gap (19) is formed between the collar and the cylindrical wall (11) of the valve body. A protective wall around the needle socket forms a ring chamber with the valve body wall.
