Zusammenfassung: | The amt. of gaseous metabolites or reaction prods. in (bio)chemical reactions is determined by compensation of pressure changes which are generated in a closed system by the gaseous producs and possibly by selective absorption of individual components. The new feature is that, in response to the internal pressure, the system vol. increases and the vol. change is evaluated by a control and interpretation unit and transmitted to a data display device. USE/ADVANTAGE - This method allows automated, continuous volumetric measurements of gases to be performed at constant pressure. Specific applications are monitoring anaerobic denitrification and CH4-generating biochemical processes, e.g. drinking water prodn. or waste-water treatment. |
