Electric steam iron - has removable tank at the iron sole as steam chamber

The steam chamber of an electric steam iron is a tank (8) set on the iron sole (10). The tank (8) forms the upper part of the iron sole (10). The tank can be a boat-shaped body, inserted in a recess or opening at the upper side of the point of the iron sole (10) to be removed and pulled clear in the direction of the sole (10) point. The tank (8) can also be inserted at the iron sole (10) from the rear, using a tank (8) of the same size as the iron sole (10), with a flattened point with a droplet opening (15) at the point and a grip at its free end (16). The tank (8) is fitted with guide edges or grooves, and has a removable cover. The tank (8) has a separate and independent electrical heating system, with a further thermostat to control its temp. apart from the iron sole (10) temp. ADVANTAGE - When fouled by scale, the tank can be cleaned easily or simply replaced.
