Zusammenfassung:Increasing the flexibility and strength of a nonwoven comprises using a flat fibre structure created by carding, needling and shrinking. The structure is made of bicomponent tapes sepd. into fibres mechanically and featuring 2-3 mm long short-fibre fibrils. The fibrils are completely enveloped with the matrix polymer as bonding agent and exposed by means of a two-phase extraction of the matrix polymer. The bonding agent is dissolved out of the fibre structure until the limit of stability is reached in the liq. phase. It is subsequently removed virtually fully in the steam phase. ADVANTAGE - The product is particularly suitable for the manufacture of synthetic leather and features high strength and exceptional flexibility.
