Zusammenfassung:In a preparatory phase, the vehicle is driven at a speed such that the clutch shaft speed in the selected gear exceeds a given value plus a speed difference. The clutch pedal is then depressed until this speed has fallen by twice the difference, and the retardation is noted. Finally with the clutch re-engaged the engine is run-up at full throttle before being braked to the same effect. USE/ADVANTAGE - On both natural-draught and supercharged engines. Specific fuel consumption and effective torque are determinable without dismantling or use of special test benches.
