Zusammenfassung:In a process to transfer a granular adsorbent from an adsorption zone to a regeneration zone, the adsorbent comes into contact with sulphurous smoke to be cleaned in the adsorbent zone and subsequently surrenders its load to a gas in the regeneration zone. The novelty is that the adsorbent leaves the adsorption zone and is first passed through a gas lock zone before advancing to the regeneration zone. The gas lock zone incorporates at least one gas lock which is filled and emptied in cycles through inlets and outlets controlled by valves. The smoke is admitted to the gas lock in a cycle; that the gas lock is at least partially filled with adsorbent. The smoke is drawn off from the gas lock. Regenerative gas is admitted to the gas lock so that the adsorbent is taken from the gas lock to the regeneration zone, and the regenerative gas is drawn off from the gas lock. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arangement facilitates the construction of a continual process for the use and regeneration of adsorbent.
