Zusammenfassung: | Microporous compressed heat-insulating body (I) e.g. based on fine-pored silicic acid aerogel with mineral fibre reinforcement and/or clouding agent and opt. hardener, comprises a partial or complete shrink-coating (II). Also claimed is the prepn. of (I) comprising packing the base (10) in a bag (2a) of shrinkable plastic. sealing the open end, feeding into a shrinking tunnel and shrinking the film on all sides e.g. using hot gas. (II) pref. consists of a shrink-coatable plastic film pref. polyethylene and the like. The thickness of the film (2, 11) is adapted to the weight of (10) and the degree of deformation and is pref. 4-15 micron m. (10) is partially or completely laminated e.g. with glass fibre fabric. (10) is partially or completely coated with a metal foil (13). (10) is compressed with an on-centre metal foil (14) which can exhibit corrugation or holes. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are used on thermal surfaces such as heating systems, exhaust gas lines, catalysts, reactors and car engines. The coating is inexpensive and easy to mfr. It has good expandability and guarantees optimum protection. |
