Zusammenfassung:	An inoculation wire, consisting of a hollow steel wire filled with pulverulent ferrosilicon, is used for the production of cast iron with nodular graphite or vermicular graphite. To enhance the inoculation effect and to reduce at the same time the decaying effect of the treatment with magnesium, the filling contains 1 to 50% by volume of pulverulent magnesium silicide.
