Zusammenfassung:	The applicator is for the coating of a carrier length with e.g. glue. It has an applicator roller, to remove the glue from a store, and an associated stripper device, to remove excess glue. The stripper device (44) has two doctor knives (47,48). These are located behind each other in circumferential direction of the roller (39), and form a collection chamber (49) for the glue. The upstream doctor knife has an inlet gap (51), to allow passage of the glue from the store (41) into the chamber. ADVANTAGE - Improved reliability for increasing production speed.
