The organosilicon polymer is crosslinked under increased pressure and at elevated temperature. After joining the surface layers and the honeycomb core, the layered structure is pyrolysed to form a ceramic. The ceramic material obtained is remarkable, in particular, for high heat and chemical resistance accompanied by good strength properties and low density.
